Welcome Newsletter

Welcome to our first blog from Gifts of Taste by Adreanne!

We have been in business for 23 years - providing holiday gourmet desserts that are reminiscent of old -english cakes and plum puddings and helping families to develop their own special "holiday traditions."

Over the years we have received numerous questions about holiday desserts, holiday decorating (we love decorating during the holidays!), and recipe ideas. With Thanksgiving just two days away, it seemed appropriate that our first post would include a beautiful table decoration made with a sugar pumpkin. Interestingly, this also serves as a serving dish for your favorite stuffing recipe!

Sugar Pumpkin Centerpiece

What you will need:
6 - 8 lb. Sugar Pumpkin
5 - 8 c. of your favorite stuffing (we prefer a sausage stuffing)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard

1. Cut the top of your pumpkin and remove the seeds from the pumpkin.
2. Prick the inside of the pumpkin around the sides and along the bottom.
3. Rub the inside of the pumpkin with the salt and dry mustard.
4. Fill the pumpkin with the stuffing and place the pumpkin top back onto the pumpkin.
5. Place the pumpkin in a shallow roasting pan and add 1 c. water.
(If water begins to evaporate simply add more.)
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until pumpkin is fork tender.
7. Place cooked pumpkin and stuffing on a serving platter and use as a decorative centerpiece.

This centerpiece will add a festive mood to your Thanksgiving table and will look delicious next to your Walnut or Pecan Steamed Plum Pudding.
